![]() I haven’t found any that can unwrap a mesh using its own unwrapping method rather than bouncing that back to Max’s pelt and peel. There are many free and commercial UV scripts for Max, but they almost all seem to focus on speeding the normal Max workflow. But lately, they have stopped responding to support requests altogether. RayLight Games has always been slow at updating their tools. Over the years, I’ve become completely dependent on it in my texturing work. Simply put, it almost always does what I need with one click, whereas Max’s own unwrap tools, including pelt and peel, generally do what I DON’T want, requiring long hours of manual stitching and repairing. XRayUnwrap is a small but invaluable script that automatically unwraps the UVs of complex shapes straight into Max using (I believe) an LSCM method. In fact, I would have migrated months ago if it weren’t for the absence of a Max 2015 recompile of XRayUnwrap by Raylight Games. I’ve been all set to migrate from Max 2014 to 2015 and am actually keen to try some of the (now not too) new tools and take advantage of the viewport improvements. As suggested in the headline, I have a problem and I need some help. ![]()
